The Ephesian was a resident of the digital continent who liked to analyze various works in the world of entertainment. Please see his first movie post, Begin! to get an idea of his methods and see it applied. He employed the terms “events” and “lens (or scope)” to talk about a particular work’s message. An “event” is what is being portrayed and the “lens” is the cinematography, writing, music, chronology, and other aspects of the work which implicitly or explicitly tell the viewer/reader/listener how they are supposed to interpret that event. Basically, he tried to uncover what ideas the movie implied, suggested, or taught and then responded to those ideas.
I’ve since abandoned this alter-ego, but I do plan to occasionally apply the same basic idea to new movies as time goes on.
